Three Sioux County Residents Receive Minor Injuries In Boyden Accident

siouxsheriff2Boyden, Iowa — Three Sioux County residents escaped serious injury in an accident on Tuesday (2/19).

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:40 PM, 53-year-old John Wood of Rock Valley was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Venture minivan westbound on Highway 18 in Boyden. Seventeen-year-old Scott Hansmann of Boyden was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Colfax Street.

Hansmann stopped for the stop sign at Highway 18. He was turning left onto Highway 18 when his vehicle struck Wood’s vehicle.

Wood, Hansmann and a passenger in Hansmann’s vehicle, Nicholas Rosenboom of Boyden, reported minor injuries but all refused further medical treatment.

The Venture sustained approximately $4,000 damage. The Malibu sustained approximately $5,000 damage. Hansmann was cited for failing to yield upon entering a through highway.
