Two Injured in Accident Near Hawarden

sioux county sheriff emblemHawarden, Iowa — An Ireton man and a Hawarden man were injured after colliding at an intersection near Hawarden on Friday, December 23rd.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 11:25 am on Friday, 58-year-old Randall Van Whye of Ireton was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on 480th Street, three miles southeast of Hawarden. Thirty-eight-year-old Jeffrey Kingma of Hawarden was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Chestnut Avenue. According to the report, The two met in the intersection where Van Whye struck Kingma.

Van Whye and Kingma each reported minor injuries and both declined further medical attention

Van Whye’s Silverado received $4,000 damage and Kingma’s Silverado received $8,000 damage.
