Two Sibley Women’s Vehicles Damaged In Accident; Sibley Man’s Vehicle Damaged In Another

Sibley, Iowa — On October 1, 2012, Sharon Peterson, age 52 of Sibley was backing a 2000 Chevrolet Venture van from a private driveway on 6th Avenue, south of 7th Street in Sibley. Peterson failed to see a legally parked 2003 Toyota Avalon along 6th Avenue and collided on the roadway. The Toyota, owned by Diane Kass of Sibley sustained approximately $1,000 damage. Peterson’s vehicle sustained approximately $100 damage. No injuries were reported.

On October 2, 2012, Max Smith, age 21 of Sibley was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry, eastbound on 3rd Street, approaching the intersection of 5th Avenue in Sibley. Due to the bright sun, Smith did not see a 1996 Dodge pickup parked on the roadway for construction repairs, and rear-ended the pickup. Smith’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 damage. The pickup, owned by the City of Sibley, sustained no damage. No injuries were reported.
