Hawarden, Iowa — An Ireton man and a Wagner, SD woman were taken to the hospital after an accident near Hawarden.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 3:45 PM on Thursday, April 28, 2016, 21-year-old Logan Vlotho of Ireton was driving a 2006 Volkswagon southbound on Highway 10, about a mile and a half north of Hawarden. Fifty-two year-old Judy Carpenter of Wagner, SD was also southbound on 10 in a 2014 Toyota SUV when the vehicles collided.
The Hawarden Ambulance took Vlotho and Carpenter to the Hawarden Regional Healthcare hospital.
Vlotho’s Volkswagon sustained $5000 in damages, which was enough to total the car. Carpenter’s Toyota SUV sustained $10,000 in damages.
The Hawarden Fire Department and Ireton Ambulance crew assisted at the scene.
