Vehicles Driven By Boyden Man, Ashton Woman Damaged In Accident Near Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — On Friday, February 22, at 8:16 AM, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, two miles southwest of Sheldon.

Dustin DeWild, age 22, of Boyden was driving a 2002 Peterbuilt semi tractor pulling a livestock trailer southbound on Highway 60. Catherin Ward, age 36, of Ashton was driving a 2005 GMC Yukon southbound on Highway 60 following DeWild.

As DeWild began slowing to turn left, Ward lost control of her vehicle, entered the ditch and struck the livestock trailer in the median.

No injuries were reported.

The livestock trailer sustained about $500 damage. The GMC sustained about $2,000 in damages. Ward was cited for failure to maintain control.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sheldon Police Department
