Bomb Threat Emailed To Hinton Schools

Law Enforcement Lightbar redHinton, Iowa — Students in Hinton have returned to school after a bomb threat received on Monday evening.

There was no school at Hinton Community Schools on Tuesday anyway, mainly due to the icy road conditions.

Hinton Community School District superintendent Pete Stuerman reports that the message said that a bomb and other weapons would be brought to the school, but authorities searched and found nothing. He says law enforcement officials were able to trace the message as far as Germany, but he says he doesn’t think they know for sure that it originated there. He says it could have come from anywhere.

Stuerman says enhanced security will continue for a while. He says the attitude of the students and faculty seemed good on Wednesday.
