Boyden Man Faces Multiple Felony Forgery, Theft Charges

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Boyden man is facing multiple felony counts as a result of an investigation by the Sioux Center Police Department.

Court records indicate that 42-year-old Christopher Michael McKee is charged with Forgery for allegedly stealing a company checkbook from his former employer, Global Equipment LLC, and writing an $88 check to the Shell Gas Station in Sioux Center on May 5th of this year. He is accused of forging the signature of a Global Equipment employee who is authorized to use the company’s checkbook for business purposes. Records indicate McKee was captured on surveillance video signing and passing the check.

According to court records, on May 18th, McKee is accused of a second count of Forgery for writing a $500 check from the Global Equipment checkbook, and depositing it in his personal account at Peoples Bank in Sioux Center.

And then on May 20th, McKee is accused of writing another forged check for $600, and depositing it into his account at Peoples Bank in Sioux Center. Court records say McKee was also captured on video forging the checks at Peoples Bank.

McKee is charged with three counts of Forgery, as well as one count of 2nd Degree Theft, all of which are Class D Felonies.

Online jail records show that McKee was being held in the Sioux County Jail as of early Thursday afternoon.
