Boyden Man Injured In Accident At Perkins Corner

Hull, Iowa — A Boyden man was injured in an accident that closed down Highway 75 for over an hour and a half on Thursday, January 23rd.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:45 AM, 60-year-old Mark Roti of Freeman, SD was driving a 2007 Kenworth semi‐tractor pulling a milk tank trailer westbound on Highway 18.

He stopped for the stop sign at Perkins Corner on Highway 75. Twenty-six-year-old Mark Mulder of Boyden was driving a 2001 Peterbilt semi‐tractor pulling a feed tank trailer northbound on Highway 75. Roti started turning left onto Highway 75 and Mulder struck the rear of the milk tank trailer.

Mulder reported minor injuries and sought medical attention on his own.

The milk tank trailer sustained about $4,000 in damages. The 2001 Peterbilt sustained an estimated $13,000 in damages.

Roti was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign and failure to comply with safety/logbook regulations.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted the sheriff’s office.
