Boyden Man Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Boyden man who was originally charged with attempted murder has been sentenced to twelve years in prison after pleading guilty in a plea agreement.

The Lyon County Attorney’s office reports that 32-year-old Joshua Johnson pled guilty to two counts of Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, Class D Felonies, and one count of Aggravated Assault, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The charges against stemmed from assaults on three victims, which occurred on November 7th in George.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the three people were assaulted at a George home. One victim was taken to Sanford Hospital Rock Rapids and then transferred to Sanford Sioux Falls. The sheriff’s office says that victim received serious injuries to his head. The other two victims also received head injuries as well as other injuries.
