According to a Nixle alert from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, a man approached a 10-year old girl at the park, told her his name was Bill Benson, and that he knew her.  The man reportedly told the girl that her mother had sent him to pick her up.  When the man could not tell the girl her family’s password, she ran away, and no attempt was made to grab her, according to the report.  Authorities say the girl’s parent did not send the man to pick up their daughter.

The man is described as a white male 55 to 65 years old, with a white beard, wearing a brown shirt, brown shorts, a brown baseball style cap, and blue shoes.  Authorities say he may be carrying a bag of some kind.

Police say the man was last seen walking south from Kinderspielen Park.  No vehicle description is available, according to the alert.
