NCC logo and taglineSheldon, Iowa — Another northwest Iowa family will be receiving a refurbished vehicle soon, thanks to the SkillsUSA Service Learning Project at Northwest Iowa Community College.

NCC’s Charitable Chariots, a SkillsUSA Service Learning Project, will be donating a 1997 Chevrolet Venture minivan to a family that has been identified by Upper Des Moines Opportunity, or UDMO.

SkillsUSA is a student run organization that promotes professional development, community service, and technical training. Students in the Automotive Service Technology and Diesel Technology programs at Northwest Iowa Community College refurbish automobiles, vans, and trucks for the purpose of donating back to area families in need. Families that receive the donated vehicles are selected by area social service agencies like UDMO. This is the 17th vehicle donated by NCC since 2009.

The family will receive their vehicle at Northwest Iowa Community College next Tuesday, March 1st.
