CHP Suggests Tips For Heart Health During Heart Month

heart beatOrange City, Iowa — According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women.

To prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, February has been designated as American Heart Health Month.

Teri Bos, a public health nurse with Community Health Partners, (the Sioux County health department) tells us why heart disease is highlighted.


She says to prevent heart disease, it’s best to know where to start.


She says the good news is that you can make healthy changes to lower your risk of developing heart disease or control it if it’s already developed.


Bos says there are some other things you can do to prevent heart disease.
