City Accepting Bids For Trio Of Properties Housing Dilapidated Buildings

Sheldon, Iowa — The City of Sheldon will be accepting sealed bids for three city-owned properties around Sheldon.

Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker tells us how the City came to own these properties.

Kooiker says the three properties are located in various areas of Sheldon.

He says each property has dilapidated buildings requiring the property to be rehabilitated.

Kooiker says the three properties will be sold through a sealed bid process.

State law requires that the materials from each of these structures be taken to a landfill where they can be inspected for hazardous materials before being placed into the landfill. Separate bids will be required for each location.

Sealed bids must be received by the Sheldon City Office by noon on Friday, November 8th.
