Sheldon, Iowa — Whether or not you believe the Friday the 13th superstitions hold any merit, this past Friday, the 13th of May, was not a lucky day for the organizers of Sheldon’s Community Clean-up Day.
The Community Clean-Up Day had been scheduled for Friday afternoon, but according to Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth, the weather just didn’t cooperate.
Strouth says as a result of Friday’s weather, the event has been rescheduled.
He says that, while the original volunteers are still planning to work this Thursday, they can still use more volunteers.
Strouth stressed that this Clean-Up Day has nothing to do with the City-Wide Residential Spring Clean-Up, which is going on this week and next.
He says if you’d like to volunteer to help clean up and beautify the City’s parks and playgrounds this Thursday, you can contact the SCDC Office at 712-324-2813.
