Collect Seed With Others On Thursday And Strengthen A Prairie

Sutherland, Iowa — Two hundred years ago, when this land was pristine prairie, the landscape looked much different. There are very few areas that look like they did that long ago. But you’ve got a chance this Thursday, October 11th, to help make a plot look more like it did when the lands were wilder.

O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea tells us how you can help.

She says you can enjoy the fall colors and weather and help the prairie at the same time. The Prairie Heritage Center is located between Sutherland and Petersen, north of Highway 10 on Yellow Avenue. For more information, you can call them at 712-295-7200.
