UPDATE: Community Development Director Resigns

ISB LogoSheldon, Iowa — Earlier this week we told you about the resignation of Curt Strouth from his position as Community Development Director for the City of Sheldon.  Now it’s been announced that Strouth will be joining the staff at Iowa State Bank as a Lender and Development Officer at their Sheldon office. His responsibilities will include servicing existing business account relationships, new business development, and commercial lending. His first day at Iowa State Bank will be March 14, 2016.

Ken Hengeveld, Vice President and Sheldon Location manager says Strouth’s experience in building relationships in the Sheldon community and understanding the needs of small business will support the bank’s commercial lending services. He says they are excited to have Curt join the Iowa State Bank team.

Strouth had been the City’s Community Development Director since 2013.

SCDC sheldon chamber door signSheldon, Iowa — The City of Sheldon will begin the search for a new Community Development Director soon, following the resignation of current Development Director Curt Strouth.

Strouth tells KIWA that his resignation, which will be effective at the end of this month, will allow him to pursue another career opportunity.  He declined to say what that opportunity is, citing a confidentiality agreement with his future employer, but tells KIWA that he will be staying in the community.

Strouth has been Community Development Director 2013, following the departure of Mark Gaul, who previously held the position of Economic Development Director for the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation.  Following Gaul’s departure, that position was made a City job, changing the title to Community Development Director, and allowing that position to enjoy the City’s employee fringe benefit package.

The Community Development Director’s office is still located inside the SCDC office in the Community Services Center.
