Conservation Board To Present “People Of The Land”

prairie Heritage Center 3Peterson, Iowa — There have been people living in what we now call northwest Iowa for a long time. If you’d like to learn about them, your chance is this Thursday evening.

O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea says the presentation is the next in the Living In Iowa program at the Prairie Heritage Center. She tells us about the Living In Iowa program.

She says Thursday night’s presentation will focus on the Native People of Iowa.

She tells us that Native Americans have a long history in this area.

Elyea says there will even be an opportunity to create an object to take home.

People of the Land will be held at the Prairie Heritage Center on Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m.

For more information about the event, contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
