prairie heritage center sign springSutherland — Iowans who have made a large contribution to conservation causes will be the subject of a presentation at the Prarie Heritage Center near Sutherland later this month.

O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea says that Iowa was home to many “conservation heroes”. She says these men and women paved the way in prairie preservation, wildlife biology, political cartoons, raptor rehabilitation and more.

She says there will also be some hands-on demonstrations. Again, the “Iowa’s Conservation Heroes” presentation will be later this month, on Sunday, April 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Prairie Heritage Center.

For more information about the event, you can contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
