Council Sells Lots To Poppema-Sikma Construction

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council met Wednesday they approved the sale of three lots in the Trilogy Addition to Poppema-Sikma Construction for a total of $50-thousand dollars. That price was agreed upon because the ground contour will require a lot of expense to make the lots suitable for construction of houses. A single family home will be built on each lot with a substantial completion of December 31, 2020. The Trilogy Addition is the area near Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon.

The Council also gave their final approval to the rezoning of the Rustic Ridge Addition and the Sheldon Crossroads Business Park. They also set June 6th at 12:00 noon as the time and date for public hearings on the rezoning of several parcels of land on South 3rd Avenue.

In other business, the Council approved a $650-thousand Minimum Assessment Agreement for a Sudbeck Trucking project. And they approved a change in time for some council meetings in June, July and August. The first Wednesday of each month the council will meet at twelve noon, and on the third Wednesday of the month they will meet at 4:30 as usual.
