Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will get an update on the final design of the proposed events center when they meet this Wednesday, February 17th. Also their agenda includes a discussion regarding the HTC Communications franchise renewal and consideration of support for the Northwest Iowa Regional Trust Fund.
The Trust Fund is a six-county area program which provides forgivable loan funds for certain structural home repairs. Certain guidelines apply to this program including the requirement that the applicant must own and occupy the property throughout the entire term of the five year promissory note. The amount available to each applicant is determined by income guidelines. Sheldon’s share of the local match program is $2,500, but since the City still has $190 left in the fund the total due for Sheldon to continue in the program is $2,310.00.
The final agenda item will be a possible closed session for the city manager evaluation. Wednesday’s council meeting begins at 4:30 in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
