Council To Hear 1st Reading Of Sewer Rate Ordinance

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council meets this Wednesday March 21st, they will hold a public hearing to consider a resolution on the Rustic Ridge Subdivision.  This area is on the East side of Country Club Road, just South of the Golf Course.  This is not within the City Limits, but is within the area where the City has zoning power.

The Council is also scheduled to consider a resolution to approve an application by the SCDC for annexation into the City Limits the 32 acre tract they have purchased for future development.  This is located directly North of Highway 18 and East of Highway 60.  It has been named Crossroads North.

In other business, the Council will consider approval of a new TIF application.  They will also consider adding a second full-time person to the Crossroads Pavillion Staff.  And, they will hear the first reading of an ordinance on Sewer Rates, which will concern the rate increases due to begin July 2019 and January 2020.  Earlier announced rate increases for these dates were only estimates, but now that the construction cost of the new Wastewater system has been determined by bidding, it has been found that the increases for those dates can be a little lower than the projections.

Wednesday’s Council meeting begins at 4:30 in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
