Democratic Candidate For Governor To Visit Area

Northwest Iowa — One of the seven Democratic candidates for Iowa Governor is going to be in several communities in northwest Iowa over the next few days.

According to his campaign website, John Norris “is a fifth-generation Iowan, raised on the Montgomery County family farm his Great-great grandparents settled in 1881. Educated at Red Oak Community Schools, Simpson College and The University of Iowa College of Law, [Norris] benefited from having a strong family, a close-knit rural community, and a world-class Iowa education.”

On Saturday, Norris will be at The Bear Coffeehouse and Wine Bar in Spencer at 5 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. that night, he’ll be at the Spirit Lake Public Library.

On Sunday, Norris will be in Sibley at noon at the Pizza Ranch. Later that afternoon — at 2 — he’ll be at the Grand Falls Casino Resort west of Larchwood. He’ll make two more stops on Sunday in northwest Iowa — at the Town Square Coffee House in Orange City at 4, and at the Cherokee Family Table Restaurant at 6:30.

On Monday, the candidate will visit Jays Restaurant and Lounge in Sanborn at 8 a.m. and he’ll be at a Plymouth County Democrats Forum at 6:30 that night at the Hinton Community Center.

On Tuesday, Norris will be in Le Mars at Lally’s Eastside at 9 a.m. and at the Northwest Iowa Sierra Club Gubernatorial Forum at 6:30 p.m. that evening at the First Unitarian Church of Sioux City.
