Des Moines Man Apparently Drowned In West Lake Okoboji On Saturday While Working On Dock

Spirit Lake, Iowa — A Des Moines man is dead after he drowned in West Lake Okoboji over the weekend.
On Saturday (10/20) the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a drowning on West Lake Okoboji just before 4:30 PM. An investigation found that 30-year-old Andrew Goll of Des Moines had been working on a dock in the 16000 block of North Inner Lane, in rural Spirit Lake.
A family member found Goll in the water near the dock. A doctor that lives near the property came to the scene and administered life saving measures. Goll was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Spirit Lake First Responders and Lakes Regional Hospital Ambulance and Paramedics assisted at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
