Donations To United Fund Could Use A Boost

Sheldon, Iowa — Donations to the 2017 Sheldon United Fund are not quite keeping on pace, but the board is thankful for every donation.

The drive continues through the rest of the year. The goal this year is $31,000.

The fund drive is now 70% finished. The funds are at about 65% of goal, at $20,149. If donations were keeping pace with the goal, they would be at $21,700 this week. Over $10,500 has yet to be raised. To finish on goal, the drive now needs to average about $2800 per week through the rest of the year. In the last week, donors gave $900.

Contributions to any or all of the organizations served by the Sheldon United Fund may be left at five locations in Sheldon: Citizens State Bank, Iowa State Bank, Northstar Community Credit Union, Northwestern Bank, and Peoples Bank, or you can also send them to PO Box 41, Sheldon, IA 51201. Explanations of the organizations are also available at the dropoff points.

Each week we’re mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:

·Rise Ministries, Inc.
·Excellence For East (East Elementary)
·The Sheldon Ministerial Association
·The Sheldon Prairie Museum

The United Fund will be assisting 26 different organizations in Sheldon and the surrounding communities this year, and they thank you for your contribution.
