Date posted - June 30, 2012
Sheldon, Iowa — Utility companies across Iowa are keeping an eye on the impact of the hot temperatures to make sure there is enough energy to meet the demand. MidAmerican Energy is the electric company that serves Sheldon and a number of other communities in Northwest Iowa. MidAmerican spokesperson, Tina Pothoff, says usage has increased as the temperatures have soared.
The company has several things they can do to help cut the load when demand goes up.
Pothoff says there are plenty of ways individual homeowners can cut energy usage, but you have to be sure you are using them.
