Eleven Drug-Related Arrests Made At Casino

Larchwood, Iowa — While all offenses were misdemeanors, there were a number of them at the Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort near Larchwood over the weekend.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says that due to an increase in crime in the casino parking lot, their office conducted an undercover operation there on Saturday, October 21st, 2017. The operation netted eleven total arrests. They tell us that all of the arrests were for possession of controlled substances, a serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

The arrests included people from Sibley, Dubuque, and Rock Rapids, Iowa; Aberdeen, Brandon, Sioux Falls, and Mitchell, South Dakota; and Worthington and Fulda, Minnesota.

According to the Grand Falls Casino Schedule, the Grammy-Award-winning comedy duo Cheech and Chong performed at the facility’s event center that night.
