EMS Personnel Sharpen Skills During EMS Day

Orange City, Iowa — EMS personnel from around northwest Iowa converged on Orange City on a Saturday to attend the Annual EMS Day, hosted by the Sioux County EMS Association, and Sioux County Emergency Management.

Sioux County EMA Director Nate Huizenga says the EMS Day training consisted of both classroom and hands-on instruction.

Huizenga says the training wasn’t limited to EMS personnel from Sioux County.

He says the goal of the training is to keep the skills of the area’s EMS personnel honed and sharp for when they’re faced with the real thing.

Huizenga says they like to keep the training close to home.

Trainers from Texas, Missouri, Colorado and Iowa provided the training at the conference.
