A release from the Estherville Police Department indicates the body of 30-year-old Michaela Lynne Jordan was found in a home just before 8 PM Wednesday. She had a single gunshot wound.

Early Thursday morning, officers arrested 35-year-old Scott Anthony Sudbeck and charged him with first-degree murder. He’s being held in the Emmet County Jail. Both Sudbeck and Jordan are from Estherville.

Responding officers were able to obtain witness statements that assisted in the case. Police say they’ve “obtained a substantial amount of evidence” in the case, but they’re not discussing details.
