Everly Area Farmer Dies In Farm Accident

Everly, Iowa — An Everly area farmer has died in a farm accident.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that they dispatched emergency crews to 3785 130th Avenue in rural Everly at about 6:30 PM on Friday (9/21) for a report that someone found local farmer 63-year-old Timothy Galm unconscious.
Upon arrival, authorities pronounced Galm dead at the scene and an investigation was conducted.
It was found Galm had started his Farmall 460 tractor from a standing position inside of the right rear tractor tire, while it was in reverse. The tractor knocked Galm over and ran over him.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Everly Fire and Rescue, the Spencer Ambulance, the Clay County County Medical Examiner.
Funeral arrangements are with the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
