Everly Man Injured In Semi Rollover Near Hartley

Hartley, Iowa — An Everly man was injured in an accident on Thursday (7/5) near Hartley.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 11:50 AM, 42-year-old Michael Thiel of Everly was westbound on Highway 18, two miles west of Hartley in a 2008 semi, when he attempted to turn right onto Tyler Avenue — L58. Thiel lost control and the semi overturned onto its side. The load of hog feed was partially spilled into the ditch. The semi came to rest on its left side in the north bound lane of Tyler Avenue just north of Highway 18.

Theil had head injuries and did not remember any details.

Thiel was taken to Sanford Sheldon by ambulance.

Thiel’s semi, owned by the Farmer’s Coop of Farnhamville received $25,000 damage.
