Five People Taken To Hospital After Accident Near Kingsley

mercy air care helicopter macKingsley, Iowa — Five people were taken to a hospital after an early Thursday accident (December 26th).

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 2:15 AM, they received a 911 call from someone involved in an accident. They reported one person was trapped. The caller said the accident was near the intersection of county road L21 and 330th Street near Kingsley.

Kingsley and Pierson Fire and Ambulance were dispatched as well as Mercy Air Care. The person trapped was freed and all five people in the vehicle were transported to Mercy Medical Center.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that their investigation showed the driver was westbound on 330th Street and lost control on the gravel road. The vehicle dropped the passenger side tires into the north ditch and then the driver over corrected, causing the vehicle to enter the south ditch where it rolled onto its top.

The Sheriff’s Office says it is not believed at this time that any of the injuries are life threatening. Names will be released at a later time.

The Kingsley Fire and Ambulance crews, Pierson Fire and Ambulance crews, and the Sioux City Police Department assisted the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
