Five People Taken To Sioux Falls Hospital After Accident Near West Lyon School

Inwood, Iowa — Five people were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital after an accident on Monday, July 7, 2014.lyon co ambulance side

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 5:50 AM, 30-year-old Lance Miller of Sioux Falls, SD was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup westbound on A26, near the West Lyon School. Thirty-two-year-old Chelsea Snyders of Inwood was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Astro Van southbound on Highway 182.

Miller stopped at the intersection and then proceeded to cross and was struck on the passenger side by the Snyders van.

All five occupants in Snyders vehicle were transported to Sanford Sioux Falls Hospital by the Lyon County Ambulance. Miller refused treatment at the scene.

Miller’s vehicle sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage and Snyder’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000 in damage.

Miller was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.

The Lyon County Ambulance personnel, Larchwood Fire Department, Larchwood EMS crew and Inwood Body Shop assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
