Five projects will receive grants this time. The money comes from revenues collected from the Hotel-Motel Tax. Chairperson Heidi Brown says they received six applications.
She says one of the applications they received was from RiseFest. But she says, they’ve made a small change in what projects get funded in what way.
She says those three events are so big and bring so many people to Sheldon, they have been singled out. She says they have decided to set aside certain amounts of funds for each major event.
Brown tells us about the grants they are giving this time.
She says there have been almost 46,000 people at the NCC Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center for meetings and events since the facility opened.
Brown also says the lighted Sheldon Prairie Museum sign is being finished, and will soon have an open and closed indicator at the top of the sign.
