According to Paullina Fire Chief Brent Noteboom, about 11:30 AM, the Paullina Fire Department was called to the report of structure fire at Delbert Schueder’s place at 5881 490th Street, three miles south and three east of Paullina.

The chief says the fire department saw the machine shed fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says there was no saving the building, so they focused their efforts on defending the other buildings on the place.

Noteboom reports that there were no injuries to people, pets, or livestock.

The fire department was assisted by the Sutherland, Meridan, and Cleghorn fire departments.

He says the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Chief Noteboom reports that there was extensive damage. Lost in the fire were two pickups, five tractors, a combine, and two four wheelers along with shop tools and other items.
