Four From Sioux City Arrested On Drug Charges Near Hospers

Hospers, Iowa — Four people from Sioux City were arrested on drug charges on Tuesday, July 1 near Hospers.Sioux Sheriff Car 84-

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrests were a result of a traffic stop early on Tuesday. It occurred at the intersection of Highway 60 and 430th Street, three miles south of Hospers.

Upon further investigation, the deputy discovered the occupants inside the vehicle were in possession of a controlled substance.

As a result of the investigation, 22-year-old Simon Chieng, 20-year-old Kayla Mosser, 20-year-old Alexander Smurthwaite, and 18-year-old Shyanne Munter, all of Sioux City, were each arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Chieng was also charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated/drugged. Mosser was also charged with furnishing a controlled substance into a detention facility and possession of a prescribed medication without a prescription.

The sheriff’s office Drug Recognition Expert assisted with the investigation.
