Four Sioux Center Residents Transported To Hospital After Accident

Sioux Center AmbulanceSioux Center, Iowa — Four Sioux Center residents were taken to the hospital after an accident on Friday (4/12) in Sioux Center.

The Sioux Center Police Department reports that about 8:10 AM, 15-year-old Kendra Wieringa of Sioux Center was westbound on St. Andrew’s Way, near the Holiday Inn Express in a 2011 Chevy. Thirty-four-year-old Heidi Hibma of Sioux Center was northbound on Highway 75 south in a 2007 Ford.

Wieringa stopped for the stop sign and made a left turn onto the highway. The Hibma vehicle coming from the south, struck the Wieringa vehicle.

Hibma and two passengers in her vehicle, 10-year-old Eli and 7-year-old Abram Hibma were transported to Sioux Center Hospital by Sioux Center Ambulance. One passenger in the Wieringa vehicle, 18-year-old Heather Kaemingk, was also transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by Sioux Center Ambulance.

Wieringa’s Chevy received $10000 damage. Hibma’s Ford received $10000 damage.

Wieringa was charged with Failure To Yield on Left Turn.
