Frost and Snow Forecast For The End Of This Week

Sheldon, Iowa — Area farmers have had a challenging growing season, to say the least, and our weather forecast isn’t doing anything to help them overcome the challenges.

KIWA talked to National Weather Service Meteorologist Jim Murray at the Sioux Falls Weather Station Tuesday, and he tells us there is some frost in the forecast for later this week.

We asked Murray how long the upcoming cold snap would stick around.

He says we may even get some of the dreaded s-word later this week.

Though temperatures will be cold into the start of the weekend, Murray says they will begin to moderate by Sunday, when the high is forecast in the mid 40s, with highs near 50 forecast for Monday.
