The Sheldon City Council meets in regular session Wednesday, February 1st.
Their agenda will include the first reading of an ordinance dealing with golf-cart operations on city streets and a discussion of the stop lights at the 9th street and third Avenue intersection downtown Sheldon. This is the result of a request made by councilman Dave Popkes to consider removal of the stoplights downtown and replace them with stop signs to conserve energy costs.
The Council will consider No Parking signs on the West Side of North 21st Avenue, and consider a contract with Snyder and Associates for the Highway 18 Improvement Project.
They will also set the date and time for a public hearing on the fiscal year 2012-2013 budget and as a last agenda item, hold a possible closed session to consider the purchase of property.
Wednesday’s meeting will begin at 4:30 in Council Chambers of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
