Hartley Woman Transported To Hospital After Accident; Sheldon Police Cover Other Incidents, Make Arrests

A Hartley woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Monday (May 6) in Sheldon.
The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 3:50 PM, 20-year-old Natosha Engelkes of Hartley was eastbound on Highway 18, near the Washington Avenue Casey’s in a 1998 Chevy. Twenty-four-year-old Natasha Holtzclaw of Sibley was westbound on 18 in a 1992 Chevy.
Engelkes was turning into Casey’s driveway. There was a westbound truck blocking her view. Holtzclaw’s vehicle was in the outside westbound lane. It struck the Engelkes vehicle mid-turn.
Engelkes was transported to Sanford Sheldon by SCAT.
Engelkes’s Chevy received $3000 damage, enough to total the vehicle. Holtzclaw’s Chevy received $3000 damage.
Engelkes was charged with Failure to Yield on Left Turn.
A Texas man’s pickup and a Sheldon woman’s car were damaged in an accident on Monday (May 6) in Sheldon.
The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 12:50 PM, 27-year-old Cody Otis of Perryton, Texas was northbound on Thirty-Fourth Avenue, near Sheldon Crossing in a 2009 Chevy Pickup. Thirty-one-year-old Margaret George of Sheldon was northbound on Thirty-Fourth in a 2004 Saturn.
The Otis pickup was stopped for the stop sign between McDonald’s and Taco Johns, waiting to turn onto Highway 18. He proceeded, then stopped for eastbound traffic, and was rear-ended by George’s car.
The vehicles received $1000 damage, each.
George was charged with Failure To Have Control.
The Sheldon Police took a report on Monday (5/6) of someone damaging three garage doors at a location on Twenty-Sixth Avenue some time between Friday the 3rd and Monday the 6th of May. The damage was estimated at $900.
The Police report they arrested 48-year-old Marc Muhlbauer on Monday on an O’Brien County Warrant for Probation Violation. He was taken into custody and transported to jail in Primghar.
Sheldon Police officers arrested 21-year-old Zackery Buckwald at the Residential Treatment Facility on Monday (5/6) on a charge of Furnishing a Controlled Substance at a Detention Facility. He too was taken into custody and transported to jail in Primghar.
