Hawarden, Iowa — A Hawarden man facing two felony drug charges is behind bars after being arrested in Hawarden on Monday (September 10th).
Court documents indicate that 20-year-old Yoni Duenas of Hawarden was picked up on a warrant by the Hawarden Police Department. The officer states that when Duenas was arrested, he had on his person 6 individual bags of methamphetamine, a larger bag of meth, and a scale.
In addition to being picked up on the warrant, Hawarden Police also charged Duenas with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class B felony; no valid drug tax stamp, a class D felony; and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Sioux County Jail in Orange City where at last report, he remained.
If convicted of a class B felony, Duenas could face 25 years in prison. If convicted of a class D felony, he could face 5 years in prison and a fine of between $750 and $7500.
