Hawarden Man Seriously Injured In Construction Accident In Hull

avera mckennan careflight new helicopterHull, Iowa — A Hawarden man was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after a construction accident on Wednesday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 8:20 AM, they were called to the site of a construction
accident that occurred at 3365 Ironwood Avenue, four miles southeast of Hull.

They report that 28-year-old Raul Robles of Hawarden was working as an employee of De Groot Construction from Sioux Center. He was installing rafters on a new building project. Witnesses reported that Robles fell
approximately 23 feet from a platform near the rafters onto a concrete floor below.

Robles received critical injuries, and was transported by the Hull Ambulance to the Sioux Center Hospital. He was later flown to Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
