Northwest Iowa — Travel along parts of Highway 18 in northwest Iowa may be a little slower than normal this summer, as construction projects crank back up for the season.
Iowa Department of Transportation Cherokee Resident Construction Engineer Steve McElmeel tells KIWA that work will be completed on the section of Highway 18 between Sheldon and Sanborn this summer.
In addition, McElmeel says the section of 18 between Sanborn and Hartley is also scheduled for this season.
He says the bid for the Sanborn to Hartley section are scheduled to be let this week.
So, while the trip down Highway 18 will take a little longer, just remind yourself how much nicer the trip will be once the road is completed.
