Hoefert To Run For Second Term As State Party Co-Chair

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids man is running for re-election to a state party post. Dr. Cody Hoefert, who has served since June 2014 as the co-chair of the Iowa Republican Party, has announced he will again seek that post.

He tells us about the decision.

Hoefert says that the Iowa Republican Central Committee, which is made up of four members from each of Iowa’s Congressional districts; and the National Committee Man and National Committee Woman make up the 18-member board who elect the party chair and co-chair. He tells us what he hopes they remember about him when they elect the co-chair.

He says that he hopes they also take into consideration the progress that has been made on registration of Republicans and fundraising.

While there has been division in the party in the past, Hoefert says he and party chairman Jeff Kaufmann believe there is room for all.

Hoefert is a doctor of chiropractic and operates a clinic in Rock Rapids, where he also serves on the city council. The party chair and co-chair election is on Saturday, January 19th.
