Hospers Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident On Perkins Corner West Of Hull

Ambulance front generic actually SCAT 2Hull, Iowa — A Hospers woman was taken to a hospital after an accident at Perkins Corner, west of Hull.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday evening November 27th, about 7:50 PM, 20-year-old Austen Klosterbuer of Rock Rapids was driving a 2001 Freightliner semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer northbound on Highway 75, two miles west of Hull at Perkins Corner. Forty-nine-year-old Carla Knibbe of Hospers was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer westbound on Highway 18.

Knibbe reported that she stopped for the stop sign at Highway 75 and then began turning left onto Highway 75 where she was struck by the Freightliner. Following the crash, the Freightliner and trailer entered the west ditch and struck a building and farm equipment.

Knibbe was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by the Hull Ambulance.

The Ford sustained an estimated $5,000 in damages. The Freightliner sustained about $25,000 in
damages. Some farm equipment and a building owned by Livestock Equipment & Manufacturing of Hull sustained about $10,000 in damages.

Knibbe was ticketed for failure to obey stop sign.

The Iowa State Patrol, Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance crew assisted the sheriff’s office.
