Hospers Woman Taken To Sanford Sheldon After Thursday Accident

SCAT Front & Right SideSheldon, Iowa — A Hospers woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Thursday, January 30th in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 4:40 PM, 19-year-old Sean Culligan of Sanborn was westbound on Sixteenth Street, in a 1994 Ford pickup. Thirty-four-year-old Rosa Rodriguez of Hospers was southbound on Business 60 in a 2012 Toyota minivan.

Culligan stopped for the stop sign on the east side of the highway, and then proceeded into the intersection, striking the Rodriguez vehicle on the driver’s side.

Rodriguez was transported to Sanford Sheldon by SCAT.

Culligan’s Ford pickup received $1000 damage. Rodriguez’s Toyota minivan received $16000 damage.

Since Culligan failed to yield from the stop sign, he was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.
