Hot Dog Night Is Monday Night (8/12)

Date posted - August 12, 2013

hot dog_sxcSheldon, Iowa — It’s an annual tradition in Sheldon. The downtown businesses serve the public free hot dogs, one night a year. And downtown merchants say it’s one night of food and fun you don’t want to miss.

This year, that night is tonight (Monday, August 12). We talked with Allison Klett, the Sheldon Chamber director, and she tells us all about Hot Dog Day.

Again, that’s tonight from 5 to 7 in downtown Sheldon. We at KIWA invite you to come see us along with Main Street Theaters and grab a free hot dog.

I take it they didn’t get the 5-7pm memo?

Sadly this year, it was a joke. I arrived downtown with my wife and child at 5:45 and it was a ghost town. Everything gone and packed up except for the 1/2 mile line at Prairie Queen Corner. I got to eat 1 single hotdog after waiting 30 minutes in line at hy vee. Awesome night
