Date posted - November 9, 2012

Sioux City, Iowa — A Hull man faces at least 5 years and up to 50 in federal prison if he’s convicted on child pornography charges.

The United States Attorney’s Office reports that 41-year-old Gary Brummel of Hull has been indicted on federal child pornography charges. The charges are contained in an Indictment unsealed this week in United States District Court in Sioux City.

The Indictment alleges that, between 2006 and 2012, Brummel distributed, received, and possessed child pornography.

If convicted on all charges, Brummel faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years and a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in federal prison, $750,000 in fines, $300 in special assessments, and at least 5 years and up to life on supervised release following any prison time.

Brummel appeared on Thursday (11/8) in federal court in Sioux City and was released on bond. Brummel’s next appearance for trial is set for January 7, 2013.

Jimmy Miller I’m glad to see that you got your CAPS lock fixed on your computer. I thought you and other guy were yelling since everything was written in all capital letters. When I (and most people) see something written in all capital letters it is read as yelling.
      For example -

turn up the radio, Brandon Flowers is on
      -or-
TURN UP THE RADIO, BRANDON FLOWERS IS ON

the last guy that had big fines and alot of jail time got away with 500 dollars and 50 hours community service. so why would we lock this guy up.

I was shocked when I heard the news. I’ve known this man for many years and NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS would I have thought this possible. The evidence doesn’t lie I guess but I still don’t believe it.

  8. jeff says:

Evidence is there. Drop the hammer on this guy and let justice be done. No matter the church, school or place of work this guy attends judgement needs to be served. For those that think not – your willing to let him babysit, teach or interact with child or children or grandkids. Anything revolviing around children, needs to be addressed. Sick and wrong.
