Hull Man Charged With Federal Child Pornography Offenses

The United States Attorney’s Office reports that 41-year-old Gary Brummel of Hull has been indicted on federal child pornography charges. The charges are contained in an Indictment unsealed this week in United States District Court in Sioux City.
The Indictment alleges that, between 2006 and 2012, Brummel distributed, received, and possessed child pornography.
If convicted on all charges, Brummel faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years and a possible maximum sentence of 50 years in federal prison, $750,000 in fines, $300 in special assessments, and at least 5 years and up to life on supervised release following any prison time.
Brummel appeared on Thursday (11/8) in federal court in Sioux City and was released on bond. Brummel’s next appearance for trial is set for January 7, 2013.
