Hull Woman, Wisconsin Man Injured In Hull Accident

A Hull woman and a man from Sheldon, Wisconsin were injured in an accident on Wednesday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that 83-year-old Margaret Hoekstra of Hull was driving a 2002 Buick Century eastbound on Highway 18, just east of Main Street in Hull. She was merging in the westbound lane to make a left turn. Fifty-year-old Scott O’Brien of Sheldon, Wisconsin was driving a 1997 Peterbilt semi westbound on 18. The vehicles collided head-on.

O’Brien and Hoekstra were both transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by the Hull Ambulance. Hoekstra was later transported to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City by the Hull Ambulance.

O’Brien’s semi sustained $15,000 damage. Hoekstra’s car sustained $10,000 in damage.

The investigation continues.

The Hull Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol also assisted at the scene.
