Informational Meeting About The Possibility Of Forming A Landowner Wind Association To Be Thursday Evening

Date posted - May 21, 2013

wind turbine_sxcSanborn, Iowa — O’Brien County Economic Development and the O’Brien County Value-Added Ag Steering Committee are inviting all landowners interested in wind development to a meeting about the possibility of forming a Landowner Wind Association.

We talked to O’Brien County Economic Development Director Kiana Johnson, and she gave us a little history.

She says they checked out another coop similar to the one they could be forming.

Johnson says it’s completely up to the landowners if they want to form a group such as this. She says they can see some benefits to forming a group.

She says another possible outcome could be avoiding divided communities.

Johnson says the meeting is open to the public, but they especially invite O’Brien County landowners and tenants. It’s this Thursday (5/23) at 8:00 PM at the Sanborn Community Building.
