Iowa Pork Congress Later This Month

pig (from ISU web site)Northwest Iowa — Pork producers from northwest Iowa, and across the state, will be visiting what is billed as the nation’s largest indoor trade show and conference devoted to pork producers later this month.

Ron Birkenholz is organizing the Iowa Pork Congress which will draw around five-thousand producers and industry officials to Des Moines. Birkenholz says one big attraction is the wide array of seminars and workshops being offered.

The keynote speaker is Patrick Moore, who’s known as the “sensible environmentalist,” while several other top-rated speakers are on the agenda to lead lectures and panel discussions.

Nearly 300 companies devoted to the swine industry will be displaying products at the trade show. The Iowa Pork Congress is scheduled for January 27th and 28th at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.
